How does someone join Cadets?

 To join 2677 RCACC, come see us any Tuesday night between 1830hrs-2100hrs (6:30pm-9pm) at the Pembroke Armouries. Check out our joining page for more information.

What will it cost?

 There are no fees to join, there are no annual dues and the uniform will be provided, on loan, free-of-charge.

How old must I be to join the Army Cadets?

You are eligible to join a corps if you have reached your 12th birthday but not your 19th.

What are the requirements of membership?

All potential cadets must be of good character, interested in the program and prepared to attend parades regularly. You must be Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant and in good health. Permission of your parent or guardian is also required.

How often do Army Cadets train?

You will parade with your Army Cadet corps every Tuesday night. Army Cadets also participate in occasional day trips and overnight weekend training exercises.

If I join cadets, will I be joining the Canadian Forces?

Not at all. Cadets is a civilian youth organization with ties to the Canadian military, but it is not part of the Canadian military.

Who instructs Army Cadets?

Army Cadets are instructed by officers of the Cadet Instructors Cadre - a component of the Canadian Forces who are specially trained to instruct and supervise youth. Also, Civilian volunteers such as ex-Servicemen, school teachers, former Army Cadets and other persons willing to devote time to this activity are also active in the Army Cadet program.

Can Army Cadets obtain summer employment?

Yes. For senior Army Cadets (16+) who are properly qualified, the summer camps and special courses offer worthwhile summer employment opportunities - a chance to "earn while you learn".

If I join, do i have to stay in Army Cadets till i'm 19?

No, you may leave at anytime, but you will be required to return all issued kit (uniforms and such).
